A drawer chopping board will make a delightful addition to any budding gourmet’s kitchen.

The attached sliding drawer or tray is a great concept and can be used to either collect chopped or waste material from the chopping process or alternatively to store your cutting knives.

Drawer chopping boards are very innovative, stylishly designed and make food preparation a more manageable and fulfilling experience.

The are plenty of styles to choose from and among those featured here are drawer chopping boards from reputable kitchen accessory ranges including Joseph Joseph, Steller Sabatier and Nigella Lawson.

There are small and large options available - the larger ones are ideal for preparing main meals and the smaller option is great for little jobs like chopping lemons or limes for drinks. The smaller option would make a handy addition to the bar area in pubs and restaurants.

Some drawer cutting boards feature recessed ends which are ideal for sliding chopped material onto plates without spillage.

Because they are mainly constructed from wood, it’s important to ensure a drawer chopping board is cleaned properly to prevent risks of cross-contamination.

The drawers can normally be removed and placed in a dishwasher but the wooden section board will need to be wiped clean with a mild detergent and hot water, or a sanitising spray.

They will also need to be oiled regularly with a food grade mineral oil.

If looked after properly a drawer chopping board will serve you well for many years.
